Co-OPERAtive Returns for Its Fifth Season at the Greek National OperaAfter four highly successful years, the intercultural opera program for teenagers Co-OPERAtive returns for its fifth season, expanding its artistic and educational vision. Each year, the program brings together 30 young people of different nationalities—Athenians and unaccompanied minor asylum seekers—for weekly workshops in music, theatre, and dance, led by distinguished artists. The process culminates in the co-creation of an original music-theatre work.This season’s creative and educational team includes Panos Iliopoulos (musician, composer), Markellos Chrysikopoulos (music director), Vasilis Vilaras (stage director), Lemonia Gianniri (dramaturg), Pavlos Thanopoulos (set and costume designer), Giota Koutsoglou (head of theatre workshops), and Ilias Chatzigeorgiou (dancer, choreographer). Inspired by Schubert’s Winterreise, the young participants will present their final performance on June 7, 2025, at the Stavros Niarchos Hall of the Greek National Opera.Co-OPERAtive is implemented in collaboration with the non-profit organizations European Expression, Zeuxis, Home Project, and the humanitarian organization Social Ambulance (Kοινωνικό ΕΚΑΒ).
