A Small Dance Festival within the Chestnut Festival in Arna Lakonia village in Peloponnese.
Dancing Chestnut The Chestnut Festival welcomes this year for the first time in Arna the Contemporary Dance with the event Dancing Chestnut. Three dance performances by three experienced dancers and up-and-coming choreographers will be presented on Saturday 28/10/23 around the central square of the village. Performances of today that explore the exterior space and renegotiate the dance experience outside the theater. In a village in Laconia. Arna. With small forces, but with great love for the art of dance, our association, together with the Arniot choreographer Ilias Chatzigeorgiou we start this small dance festival and hope it will be the beginning of bigger artistic events and experiences in our village.
Saturday 28/10 19.30 Starting from the swings, Haris Chatziandreou with the work "Enter the void". A character lost in his dark thoughts is led to an obsessive repetition of the same futile situation and is trapped in a loop. Will he be able to redeem himself or will he sink even further into the darkness of repetition? Haris Hadjiandreou is inspired by music and the environment to take us on a journey through a performance of structured improvisation. Next is Barbara Bardaka with the nance piece "The Object of the Fall" in the old bar of Ritsa. A creature taken out of a children's painting, immerses himself in the world of his imagination looking to find his true desire. Paying attention to the need for a way out of the "worn" standards, but also to the right to chart one's own course, This work is a light confession of the creator at the meeting of performance & stage object. The event concludes at the central square by Kostas Phoenix and Stamatis Spyropoulos with the project "GenOratory". A musician and a dancer, two performers who share the stage having an emotional dialogue through music and movement. Soundscapes, kinetic ideas and an attraction to the unpredictable in an unstoppable game in which one "feeds" the other so that they can go on a short journey of inspiration and release succumbing to the powerful bond that unites them.
